Last week at Enonic - 2018, week 18

Last Week

Last week I had a day off, but the glorious Alan the Great handled that gracefully. We also held our “feature request approval and roadmap planning meeting” (formally known as PAB). You can read the full result from that, but look forward to many great things in 6.15, and the coming year. I’m sure there’s enough in there to get you all excited - editors, marketers, ops, and developers alike!

If you need XP-training, we have an extra Content 101-training on the 9th of May (the one tomorrow booked up quickly). Be sure to send your editors, marketers, and others that needs to write and publish content in XP.

Hopefully you didn’t miss that we’re now on the Google Cloud Platform. Basically one click to setup an Enonic XP-server for you to run and maintain in the cloud. If you want some more help with running a server, we at Enonic run the best cloud for Enonic XP - Enonic Cloud. Check out our updated pricing model, that no longer charges based on amount on sites.

Are you a kick-ass JavaScript-skilled webdeveloper? Or, perhaps you know someone looking for a new challenge? That friend of yours that’s really tired of being “Consultant ###”, send the link to them! Contact me for any further details.

Stay in touch here in our forums and on our open Slack channels.

Enonic Releases

Last week we released 6.14.3 that fixed one non-critical bug with the launcher-panel and which tools you see there.

For 6.15, we’re seing the new CKEditor taking form. The amount of integrations that needs to be tested is huge, and every little dialog (modal) needs to be replaced with out own. No easy task, but it looks like we’ll have this ready before summer. We’ll not replace our old editor (TinyMCE) instantly, but let you test it for a while using a configuration-file on the server. When we’ve been trying the waters for one version we’ll look at making it the new default rich text editor in Enonic XP.

Keep reporting bugs here in the forum and on our Github page for XP.

Enonic Market

Enonic Market had these updates last week:

  • Library Starter 1.0.0 - This starter kit will set up the basics for creating library project for Enonic XP.

  • GraphiQL - beta 0.2.4 - Bug: Fix service location for site with a single application.

  • PWA Starter 1.6.0 - Our PWA Starter has just gotten a bit better - now it can send and receive push notifications! Not only that, but it also keeps track of the number of subscribers in real-time. Try it out, it’s a powerful feature with a very simple implementation, thanks to lib-notifications which the Starter is using under the hood.
