I am a journalist and a paralegal who used to run an IT consultancy which specialised in determining whether projects delivered for government and financial institutions met with regulatory requirements.

As well as being able to develop software in all the “common” programming languages (PHP, C, C++, Java & Javascript (or should we be standards compliant and simply refer to it as EMCAScript) etc…) I am also a certified “OO” dinosaur - all the software I write for personal purposes is written in Object Rexx (and to prove it, yes it is true, in 2020 over a weekend, I designed and published a text mode GUI interface written in OORexx with input fields and other onscreen components and controls, input validation classes, two different screen controllers (one of which lays out the screen using “fixed sizes” and the other performs “dynamic positioning”), an input focus controller… just to name a few of the features… oh, did I mention that it has background tasks…
