Last week at Enonic - 2017, week 39

Last Week

Last week, we saw the release of nLogic’s new website (in Norwegian) running on Enonic XP.

The Enonic Developer meetup was held with many great insights into the everyday life of XP devlopment. Our own Christian showed how Posten does blazing fast multi-repo search using the latest features of Enonic XP.

The second beta of 6.12 kept spinning. We’ve fixed some bugs during the week and will hopefully release RC1 today. Excited?

Our favourite blog, Webagility, posted the fourth part in a series about Progressive Web Apps. Check it out to learn what we’ve learned the hard way, get some insight, and know more about the future of PWA.

Next PWA Oslo meetup announced, check out the agenda.

We also reached 300+ active servers worldwide running Enonic XP. Cool! =D

Enonic is hiring! We need to grow our team in Oslo with a “Partneransvarlig” ad (in Norwegian).

Don’t miss the newly opened community driven Slack channel for developers and editors to connect directly with us (and each other). We’d love to chat with you!

Further reading

Here’s some interesting articles popping up last week, related to Web Development in general.

There’s been some big commotions around React.js lately, since Facebook changed to a very controversial license. However, last week, Facebook decided to drop the patent clause from the license. Meaning many big React investors in the open source community started looking at reinvesting their efforts into it.

Internet Explorer had a nasty bug surfaced that could let websites read whatever you’d type, or paste, into the address bar (even before you’d hit enter).

Firefox Developer Edition had a major update based on the latest and greatest Firefox: Quantum engine. An updated UI and UX, improved performance, CSS Grid viewer, and other developer tools are among the improvements we see. This post is being written using it =)

Send me a private message if you happen to stumble over something interesting this week.

Enonic Releases

Enonic XP 6.12 is still in beta, but we’re close to our first Release Candidate - RC1. Follow our community Slack channel for instant updates.

6.12 will contain many new things. Like a toggle in all ContentSelecters and ImageSelectors for browsing results using Tree-view or Flat-view, and a “Save as Template” option on customized pages.

Enonic Market

Enonic Market served this update last week:

Data Toolbox version 2.1.2 released with 3 enhancements, “node export report”, “dump generation report”, and “dump load report”. Very handy for the users.

And don’t miss out on the good stuff from last month:
