Last week at Enonic - 2017, week 46

Last Week

Once again Enonic staff dressed in imaginary Jedi robes and presented the Star Wars-themed Progressive Web Apps story to students. This time we had 70+ students from the University in Oslo attending and listening carefully about technologies they will use in the future.

We’re still looking for our next three co-workers in Oslo. Are you the one? Or do you know the one? Let us know!

Contact us here in the forums or on our open Slack channels if you have any questions about us or Enonic XP.

Enonic Releases

Latest stable release of XP is 6.12.2. Please upgrade any running 6.12 servers.

We’re now focusing our efforts for the last few sprints before the planned Christmas-release of Enonic XP 6.13. It will bring joys like Gallery view in our ImageSelectors, and many more mouth watering improvements.

Further reading

Here’s some interesting articles that surfaced last week, related to Web Development in general.

Firefox Quantum released - “Talk of the town” is by far the new Firefox being released. People are picking it up right and left, and adopting their once default browser again. It has received many rave reviews and is predicted to reach a 15% usage base within a year (more than double from today).

Photon design system New with the Firefox release is also the Photon design language, much like Material design it is the design principals behind Firefox, which could be used by others.

Send me a private message if you happen to stumble over something interesting this week.

Enonic Market

Enonic Market had these updates last week:

ContentHive 1.4.1 - Introduce setting for the app to generate “invalid” contents, meaning not filling all required fields. Very handy for finding JavaScript that breaks while an editor is creating contents.

Hubspot 1.0.0 - Say welcome to one of the smallest apps on the market. Will embed the JavaScript needed for tracking through Hubspot. Registration with Hubspot required.

We have many community contributions being evaluated right now, stay tuned!

The following events are planned so far, and quickly approaching:
