Last week at Enonic - 2018, week 41

Last Week

We’re looking for great Java-developers, two of them actually - one senior and one regular. Read more about the positions on our career-page.

Want to know what a Web Application Platform is? On our website, we try to explain this in a nice way - take a look and give us feedback!

Last week saw some interesting progress on 7.0, with a lot of refactoring taking place. As mentioned earlier, we’re splitting the big Enonic XP package into smaller pieces, so that - for example - you could install and update Content Studio independently of other apps/parts of XP. This means that we could release bug fixes for Content Studio whenever needed, instead of with each XP version, and you could also update Content Studio without needing to also update the XP core (which usually means a few seconds of downtime).

As part of this work we’re also making great progress on our new documentation. It was meant to release a while ago, but needs some final touches to make it 7.0-ready. The new documentation will gather all our different docs, and add a lot of guides and tutorials on how to do different things in XP.

Last week we attended the PWA autumn meeting at Capgemini. That was great fun, and our very own Alan Semenov had a great talk about maintaining sanity with building PWAs thanks to Workbox.
