Last week at Enonic - 2019, week 13

Last Week

After months and months of hard work, we’re finally seeing the last bits and pieces of the XP7-pussle coming together. Most of our own Market apps and libraries are now XP7-ready (Enonic’s Aliaksandr upgraded 10 apps and libs on Friday!). The thing most people ask us about is how big of an job upgrading is. I can assure you it’s not a complicated task. We’ve put together a guide specifying step-by-step what you’ll need to do to upgrade from XP6 to XP7. If you’re still worried, join our Developer Meetup on the 10th of April were we’ll use the time to get you comfortable with the new Enonic CLI, and do a hands-on upgrade workshop (bring your apps and libs too!).

Other things we’re working hard on is finalizing all our training material for XP7. All training taking place after the release of XP7 will focus on XP7 only.

Two other things are our CLI and our Developer Portal, two huge parts of the XP7 release. We’ve put together a guide for getting started with the Enonic CLI for developers and would love for you to take it for a spin and give us feedback.

We’re also creating a video to introduce the main features of XP7 for all our users. We wrapped the script and the filming on Friday, and this week will focus on screen recording, voice over and editing.

In the long string of betas, we released beta 5 of XP7 on our repo last week. Be sure to install it using the Enonic CLI for the most optimal experience.

Psst! Know any Java-ninjas? Send them to our career-page.

Enonic Releases

Our latest release is Enonic XP 6.15.6! There’s also work being done on a 6.15.7 version, more information to come.

As always, we appreciate feature requests and bug reports here in the forum and/or on our Github page for XP.
