Roadmap update October 2019

Hi folks,

We recently released XP 7.1 and Content Studio 2.2.

We also released React4XP, a toolkit and project template to use react with Enonic XP.

XP 7.2 and Content Studio 2.3 are closing in on release. We have started work on Content Studio 3.0 which will feature some nice new capabilities.

Enonic XP:

Short term (X-mas 2019):

  • Audit logging
  • Vacuuming (remove unused versions)
  • Content projects (Support multiple repos to isolate your sites and content)

Long term:

  • Child branches (childs inherit nodes from parent layers)
  • Layers support in Content API (based on child branches) Will enable smart language handling and more
  • Pluggable dashboard on start screen
  • Grid memory support
  • Upgrade to newest Elasticsearch
  • Graal VM - Low level JavaScript support from next gen JVM

Content Studio:

Short term (X-mas 2019):

  • Content compare versions
  • Improved issue handling
  • Custom icons for parts
  • Content version revert (new version from existing)
  • Support for switching between projects (isolate content and sites)

Long term:

  • Site roles (granular feature access)
  • Styles for text elements in rich text editor
  • Support for layers - translation and content enrichment
  • Archive to replace delete
  • New advanced search UI
  • Ready checks (triggered during “mark as ready” in workflow)
  • Scheduled publish of modifications
  • Custom input types


  • OpenID connect idprovider
  • Gullotine 3 - Next step on our popular headless API
  • Enonic Explorer (Extendible enterprise search app)
  • Social sharing widget
  • Staters clean-up (templates vs sample apps)

  • Developer Self service signup
  • Basic dashboards and reporting
